Business Under Back Leadership: ValueMags Comments

Chicago business, ValueMags, comments on the results of poorly led business in Indiana. What kind of impressions does it leave about the rest of the city?

An Indiana woman who is 27 years old has been arrested for prostitution. Indiana police pressed charges when they discovered through an operation that there were acts of prostitution allegedly taking place in a book store establishment. The woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of prostitution and there were additional charges related to session of marijuana and other drugs. When they did the investigation of CT’s Adult Book Store, they additionally found Viagra and Oxycodone in the desks. Not only was the women charged, but the business and establishment endured many charges and violations related to public nudity, promoting prostitution, and the possession of narcotics. The police got a search warrant with the help of the Excise police force. Although this is far enough away in Chicago, it is still concerning. Why is it that individuals that are running a business believe that this behaviour is acceptable in an office setting? Obviously it is never acceptable however that fact that these acts occurred in a business setting is even less acceptable.

To elaborate, it is an employers jobs to make sure that their employees and customers are entering a safe environment when they work. That environment should abide by laws and regulations placed on the business. If and when they do not, the business is putting themselves at risk and their employees at risk. It is not yet clear what the fake of the business is. It is likely that it will be re-bought or be forced to shut down. If the same owners remain or same staff, customers will likely not go back knowing the illegal behaviour that has been occurring. Unfortunately for employees that have nothing to do with these acts, they are left jobless or with a poor reputation by association. Businesses that are founded and grown in Chicago like ValueMags, Walgreens, Sears, and many others are what hold the face and image of Chicago. The business savvy city wants to be able have a good reputation while helping businesses that were poorly lead get back on their feet.
